Architecture lecture series, conference planned

The fall 2001 Department of Architecture lecture series continues on Oct. 2 with "Nature and Architecture" by Takashi Yamaguchi. The series is cosponsored by MIT, SPNEA, Gropius House, DOCOMOMO/New England.

The series began with "Creating Design Research: From Bauhaus to Marimekko" with Jane Thompson, principal architect of the Thompson Group, on Sept. 20. Other events will include "Beauty of the Real" (the Ninth Pietro Belluschi Lecture) by Peter Zumthor on Oct. 16, and "Fleetingness," a lecture by Cristina Diaz Moreno and Efren Garcia Grinda of Madrid on Oct. 30. These lectures will be held in Room 10-250 at 6:30 p.m. All are free and open to the public. For more information on the lecture series, call x3-7791.
