Police on Friday arrested the suspect in the stabbing that took place Wednesday afternoon outside the restaurant Anna’s Taqueria in Building W20, the MIT Student Center.
The suspect was arrested in East Boston as a result of a coordinated effort between Boston and Cambridge police. He is in custody in Boston and is due to be arraigned on Friday afternoon on several charges.
Both the victim and the suspect in Wednesday’s attack worked at the restaurant, police said. The victim was taken to hospital with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.
“The MIT Police Department has forged strong relationships with the Cambridge and Boston Police Departments, as well as with those cities’ fire departments and other agencies,” said MIT Chief of Police and Director of Facilities Operations and Security John DiFava. “The excellent police work done in this case was the direct benefit of those well-established relationships."
