Bridge construction to impact traffic on McGrath O'Brien Highway

Craigie Drawbridge Rehab Project scheduled from November until April
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s major rehabilitation of the Craigie Drawbridge will have a major impact on commuters who travel in the area of the McGrath O'Brien Highway, Land Boulevard and Leverett Circle. The project begins in early November 2010 and will continue through the end of April 2011.

Inbound traffic to Cambridge from Boston will not be permitted on McGrath O'Brien Highway during this period. Outbound traffic leaving Boston through Leverett Circle will be allowed.

Access to the Museum of Science will not be restricted but patrons are advised to approach the Museum from Boston to avoid anticipated traffic congestion on the Cambridge side of the project.

Information on how you can sign up for public transit, find the recommended detours or learn more about the project is available on the Facilities website.
