Some helpful soul replaced a missing doorknob on one of the doors at 77 Massachusetts Ave. with a gel-gloved hand (top) earlier this month, offering a friendly shake to people entering there. Few were willing, but David H. Friedman, associate professor of architecture, gamely agreed to shake the glove.
