Registration is now open for getfit@mit, a 12-week, team-oriented fitness challenge open to the entire MIT community, including students, faculty, staff, affiliates, and family members.
Teams and individual participants who meet weekly exercise goals are eligible for weekly prize drawings, as well as several end-of-challenge awards. Participants can also sign up for special classes, events and contests—and every participant gets a free T-shirt.The challenge begins on Feb. 03.
Teams consist of five to eight members. To be eligible for prize drawings, participants must log their exercise minutes either on the getfit@mit website or from a mobile device.
This year MIT Medical is celebrating the tenth anniversary of getfit@mit by challenging the MIT community to set a new record by logging 10 million minutes of exercise during the challenge.
Kick-off events for this year’s challenge will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14, from noon to 1 p.m. in Lobby 10 on campus and in the cafeteria at Lincoln Laboratory. Members of the getfit@mit organizing committee will be available to answer your questions, provide information about local fitness options, and give tips on staying in shape during the winter. You’ll also have the chance to complete a fitness assessment and win door prizes.
Register your team online through Thursday, Jan. 30. Form a team among people you know or visit the “find a team” forum on the getfit@mit site, where you can connect with teams looking for members or individuals looking for teams.
