Zipcar, Buzzcar founder Chase to speak Monday

On Monday, Nov. 19, at noon in Wong Auditorium (E51-112), Robin Chase SM '86 — the founder and chief executive officer of Buzzcar and founder and former chief executive officer of Zipcar — will deliver a talk as part of the MIT Sloan School of Management Dean's Innovative Leader Series.

Chase recognized early on that there is money to be made by making car travel smarter and more affordable. In France, Chase started Buzzcar, a service that brings together car owners and drivers in a car-sharing marketplace. Buzzcar empowers individuals to take control of their mobility, without looking to governments or big businesses for solutions.

Chase is also founder and former CEO of Zipcar, the largest carsharing company in the world, and GoLoco, an online ridesharing community. Chase has found a way to make use of excess capacity, enable and unleash the information economy, while believing that marketing is the key to everything.
