Guest Services Volunteers are vital to the success of Commencement at MIT: They give directions, answer questions, make conversation with guests, and help them solve problems. We are fortunate every year to find friendly and resourceful MIT people to help us make this day a great one for our guests and graduates. Online volunteer registration is now open — will you join us?
Volunteers work under the guidance of an experienced section leader, and since all volunteers are required to attend a training session, you will be well prepared for anything that comes along. Guests start arriving several hours before the ceremony, so the volunteer time commitment is 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
We are also recruiting volunteers for the Investiture of Doctoral Hoods on Thursday, June 7. The ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. in Rockwell Cage, with a volunteer commitment of 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please sign up for Hooding via our webform.
