Taking time for music at MIT

A free screening of "MIT Music in HD!" will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. in room 10-250.

The hour-long program will feature a montage of music performances from the MIT150 Convocation; A "Rhumba for Rafael Reif" composed by Institute Professor John Harbison for President Reif’s Inauguration; the open rehearsal of the MIT Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gustavo Dudamel; and performances by the MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble.

The show will also include the premiere screening of a documentary and live concert performance by the MIT Wind Ensemble of "Awakening", a piece composed by visiting artist and MIT alumnus Jamshied Sharifi in recognition of the Arab Spring.  

Hosted by MIT Music and Theater Arts and AMPS MIT Video Productions, the event is made possible in part by the Council for the Arts at MIT.
