MIT's Next Century Convocation this Sunday

The centerpiece of the MIT150 celebration, Sunday's Next Century Convocation is a formal academic event to recall the 1949 Mid-Century Convocation and to celebrate the scholarly accomplishments of MIT faculty and students. The theme of the Next Century Convocation is the “habits of mind” fostered by MIT research and education: integrity, diligence, service, social responsibility and creativity.

Invited speakers exemplify the qualities we value; they are leaders who can speak to these themes and the importance of MIT’s role in setting an example for the nation and the world and inspire our community to take on the challenges of the next century.

All are invited to the convocation, which will be held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). Transport from campus will be provided for all members of the MIT community who would like to attend. The convocation begins at 2 p.m., will run approximately two hours, and be followed by a community reception. Guests may register for tickets online, or instant ticketing is in Lobby 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through April 8 (photo ID required).
