Lobby 7 Design Competition Award Ceremony and Exhibition Opening tonight

Final judging for the Lobby 7 Design Competition — where students submitted ideas to fill the plinths in Lobby 7 — will take place tonight from 5:30-7 p.m. starting in Starting in 7-431 then in the Wolk Gallery.

Fourteen student finalists were selected in December 2010 to compete for one of two $10,000 Grand Prizes and two second and third prizes as part of the competition, which is sponsored by the Class of 1954.

The jury will announce the final prize winners tonight, and the MIT Museum will host an exhibition of the winning entries at the Wolk Gallery in Building 7. The exhibition will take place from April 15 to May 15.
