Members of NASA’s MESSENGER science team will be meeting at MIT from 1-5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, in 32-141.
MESSENGER is a NASA Discovery mission that is scheduled to begin orbiting the planet Mercury in March 2011 and will be the first mission to visit Mercury in 30 years. The primary purpose of the team meeting, which is held two to three times per year, is to prepare team members, including Maria Zuber, chair of MIT's Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Science, for orbital operations.
