Arun Majumdar, director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E), will discuss the energy challenge and the role of his agency during a talk at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, in Bartos Theater.
Majumdar, who became ARPA-E's first director in October 2009, leads the country’s only agency devoted to transformational energy research and development.
In this talk, sponsored by the MIT Energy Initiative, Majumdar will explain the history of the agency and focus on new technical programs and scientific ideas that capture the imagination of what is technologically possible. Majumdar will also discuss how ARPA-E is planning for the future, both in terms of technologies as well as an organization.
