Vendor Fair is next week

The annual vendor fair happens next week under the tent on McDermott Court, rain or shine. Visitors to the two-day event can meet with more than 100 of MIT's suppliers and internal providers as they display their products and answer questions.

On Thursday, Sept. 19, vendors of office and computer supplies, temporary help, copier suppliers, computers and furniture will be at the fair outside buildings 54 and 18. On Friday, Sept. 20, vendors of scientific goods such as laboratory equipment, chemicals and compressed gas will be on hand.

Vendors and attendees can talk about how to achieve MIT's supplier-consolidation goal of reducing costs while enhancing the quality of goods and services. MIT providers including the Copy Technology Centers and the Department of Facilities will be there, and there will be booths to provide information about recycling and SAPweb.

There also will be a Procurement booth where staff members will discuss new partnerships and provide applications for the MIT VIP credit card for small-dollar transactions.

Refreshments will be available. For more information, call Diane Shea, director of Procurement, at 253-8370.
