The Community Giving at MIT campaign, which runs through the end of the month, has reached 98 percent of its $350,000 goal. Two more raffle prizes for participants have also been donated.
As of January 22, the campaign had received pledges of $342,047 from 1,134 community members, including 89 Leadership Givers contributing at least $1,000 apiece. Of the pledge total, $268,727 has been designated for the United Way of Massachusetts Bay (UWMB), $68,912 for the MIT Community Service Fund and $4,408 for other charity options.
In addition to raffle prizes announced earlier, all campaign donors are eligible to win a one-night weekend stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge, two sets of four tickets to the 2001 Topsfield Fair, and a $50 gift certificate for Legal Seafoods. Anyone who makes a pledge to the campaign is automatically entered. For a list of the other prizes, see the January 10 issue of MIT Tech Talk.
