A piece of the dome at 77 Massachusetts Ave. chipped off last week, along with a chunk of stone above the N in INSTITVTE. It is believed that vibrations from the Massachusetts Avenue road construction in front of the building liberated the face of the limestone block. A new piece will be installed in a few weeks.
