Growing self

Adjusting the Image is one of the paintings by Katha Seidman in the Lost Refuge exhibition at the Dean's Gallery (Rm E52-466). Ms. Seidman worked for 12 years as an assistant gallery manager at the List Visual Arts Center. In her (almost) representational paintings, she explores how the loss of familiar surroundings affects personal identity. Combining masked figures, toys, windows and mirrors in a slightly off-kilter space, she says enables her to "examine both the incoherence and the beauty in disorientation."
