Concerts planned for Family Weekend

"A Celebration of American Music" on Friday, Oct. 20, at 8pm in Kresge Auditorium will showcase many of MIT's classic performing ensembles during Family Weekend. The MIT Wind Ensemble and the MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble (Fred Harris, music director), the MIT Concert Choir (William Cutter, director) and the MIT String Chamber Orchestra, (Dante Anzolini, music director) will perform music for choir, brass, percussion, ragtime, wind ensembles and strings by Copland, Bernstein, Joplin, Ellington and others.

Harmonies and high jinks will be the order of the day at the annual Family Weekend A Cappella Concert on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 8pm in Kresge Auditorium as the Chorallaries of MIT (co-ed), the MIT/Wellesley Toons (co-ed), the Logarhythms (men), the Muses (women) and the Cross Products (Christian) serenade their families with song and shenanigans.
