Vice President for Resource Development Barbara G. Stowe has announced the appointment of Judith V. Sager as the office's director of gift planning and Laure A. Morris as its director of communications and donor relations.

"We are delighted to have both Judy and Laure on board," said Vice President Stowe. "They both bring strong skills in their respective areas as well as a great sense of strategic direction and team spirit to our enterprise."

Before coming to MIT last April, Ms. Sager was the director of endowment and planned giving for the WGBH Educational Foundation for six years. Prior to that, she was assistant director of planned giving at Brandeis University. She is an adjunct professor of planned giving at Lesley College.

A graduate of Goucher College and New England Law School, she worked at the Springfield law firm Malloy and Paul. She also spent several years as a trust officer for two Boston banks.

Ms. Morris, who has bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Indiana, was director of external relations for the MGH Institute of Health Professions for two years before joining MIT in July.

Prior to that, she was at Wheat-on College for nine years, the first four as director of student activities and the last five as director of campaign activities and volunteer advancement.

After receiving the BA in journalism from Indiana, Ms. Morris worked as director of student activities at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. While there and at DePauw University, she worked toward her graduate degree in education.
