Habitat for Humanity fundraiser scheduled

The MIT chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the Class of 2002 are sponsoring a Battle of the Bands on the second floor of the Stratton Student Center on Friday, Nov. 3 from 8pm-1am.

The event will feature musical diversity, including funk, live techno, international, indy rock, freestyle rap and a cappella. Bands from MIT, Northeastern University, Harvard University, Boston University and Bates College are expected to perform.

Money raised will go toward MIT Habitat's drive to raise $80,000 to fund an entire Habitat house in Boston and two homes overseas. The group raised $13,000 last spring. Future fundraising events will include Christmas card sales, a Penny drive, a road race and a sleepout.
