Daffodil Days cancer-fighting campaign starting

The MIT Women's League, which is again coordinating sales of spring daffodils to fight cancer, is seeking faculty and staff who are interested in helping in the campaign.

The Women's League first brought the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days campaign to MIT in 1998, and the initiative has grown each year. Last spring, 2,000 bouquets were sold to raise more than $10,000 -- 55 percent more than in 1998 -- for cancer research, treatment and education.

Women's League volunteers distribute signup sheets and collect orders from participating departments, bundle and deliver the bouquets when they arrive in Cambridge, and sell additional flowers in Lobby 10 and the Medical Department area.

Call the League Office, x3-3656 to become a Daffodil Days coordinator for your department.
