Institute will be evaluated

MIT will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit from November 7-10 by a team representing the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. MIT has been accredited by the commission since 1929 and was last reviewed in 1989.

The public is invited to submit comments regarding MIT and the evaluation to: Public Comment on MIT, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, New England Association of Schools and Colleges, 209 Burlington Rd., Bedford, MA 01730-1433, or send e-mail to cihe@neasc.org.

Written, signed comments must be received by November 10. Comments must include the writer's name, address and telephone number.

The commission cannot settle disputes between individuals and institutions, whether they involve faculty, students, administrators or others. Anyone considering submitting a complaint against MIT should request the separate Policy and Procedures for Consideration of Complaints made Against Affiliated Institutions from the commission's office.
