Retiree program focuses on exercise

"Taking up a strength training program at any age will bring benefits in muscular function, bone density, balance and coordination," says Dr. Christina Economos, who will speak at the next seminar of the Association of MIT Retirees on Thursday, March 20 at 11am in Bartos Theater (Building E15).

Dr. Economos is director of the stat health department's Osteoporosis Awareness Program and a frequent MIT health education program instructor.

Dr. Michael Kane, a rheumatologist at MIT Medical, will discuss "What we Need to Know about Arthritis as We Age" at the next seminar on April 17.
