TLO moves to Kendall Square

The Technology Licensing Office (TLO) has moved from Rm E32-300 to Rm NE25-230, above Legal Sea Foods at Five Cambridge Center. The vacated space in Building E32 will be the new home of the Knight Science Journalism Fellowship Program and the Enterprise Forum. TLO's phone number (x3-6966), fax (x8-6790) and all e-mail addresses remain unchanged.

The move was made over the summer because the TLO outgrew its old space, according to director Lita Nelsen, who noted that the staff, which now numbers 25, meets with dozens of representatives from industry each week. There will also be more room for files in the new 7,000-square-foot space.

Sharing space with the TLO in NE25-230 is MIT's Intellectual Property Counsel's office, which moved from Rm 10-256. Having that office and the TLO together in one place will ease the task of handling intellectual property and licensing policy issues, including negotiation of industrial sponsored research agreements, software acquisition agreements and materials transfer agreements, Ms. Nelsen said.

The TLO invites members of the MIT community to visit its new quarters. The entrance is through the lobby across from the back door of the Coop.
