The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has recognized the work of seven students as praiseworthy this year.
Seniors Roderick Diaz of Pomona, CA, James L. Falter of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and Karen Schmitt of Pittsburgh, PA, received Richard Lee Russel Awards for outstanding academic achievements by students who will begin graduate study in civil and environmental engineering.
Jeffrey D. Chapman, a junior from Flesherton, Ont., received the Leo '24 and Mary Grossman award for academic achievement and a strong interest in transportation.
Leanne M. Attai, a senior from Hamilton Square, NJ, received the Steinberg Prize recognizing academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in construction management.
Graduate students Peter N. Caulfield from Colts Neck, NJ, and David J. Sasek from San Leandro, CA, shared the Tucker-Voss Award for high scholastic standing, leadership and promise in the field of building.
