Dr. Adel F. Sarofim, Lammot du Pont Professor of Chemical Engineering, and Dr. Janos M. Beer, professor emeritus of chemical and fuel engineering and senior lecturer, are co-recipients of both the Senior Thermal Engineering and the Towend-BCURA awards of the Institute of Energy for their paper on the formation of nitric and nitrous oxide in coal combustion.
Dr. Daniel I.C. Wang, Chevron Professor Chemical Engineering and director of the Biotechnology Process Engineering Center, has been appointed to the International Advisory Panel at the National University of Singapore to review the engineering departments at the university. He will also be the plenary lecturer at the Asia-Pacific Biochemical Engineering Conference in Singapore.
