MIT Federal Credit Union seeks volunteer for watchdog group

Students also encouraged to apply for hands-on board positions
The MIT Federal Credit Union (MITFCU) is seeking a credit union member to serve on its supervisory committee as a volunteer associate member.

The supervisory committee is responsible for reviewing the activities of MITFCU’s Board of Directors, as well as of its management and staff. The volunteer will be asked to attend a monthly committee meeting to review policies, financial reports and audit findings.

To apply, please submit a cover letter and resume to the Supervisory Committee at mitfcu-sac@mit.edu by Nov. 30.

MITFCU board to tap students for managerial role

MITFCU is also offering an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in financial management.

The credit union is currently accepting applications for up to two student credit union members to serve on its board as associate directors.

The volunteer positions require a commitment of about eight hours per month, and can provide invaluable insight into the management of a $350 million financial institution.

If interested, please email Richard Flanagan, chairman of the Board of Directors, at rflanagan@draper.com.
