Each year, MacVicar Day honors the memory of Margaret MacVicar '64, ScD '67, MIT's first dean for undergraduate education and student life, by recognizing the significant achievements made at MIT to enhance undergraduate education and by exploring the next steps forward.
The 2010 MacVicar Faculty Fellows, this year’s recipients of the Institute’s highest teaching honor, were announced to the MIT faculty on Tuesday evening at a reception at Gray House, and will be announced to the campus community during a MacVicar Day event today. During today’s event, John Seely Brown, a former chief scientist of Xerox Corporation, will address the MIT community in a presentation titled "Blended Learning Revisited." The presentation will run from 2:15-4 p.m. in 32-141.
Professor John Belcher (physics) and Professor Dava Newman (aeronautics and astronautics) will offer responses to the presentation, followed by time for audience questions and answers.
All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served outside the Stata Center lecture hall immediately following the talk.
