'The Musical World of Steve Turre'

Jazz innovator and trombonist Steve Turre will play with MIT's Festival Jazz Ensemble on Friday, April 23 in Kresge Auditorium. A member of the NBC Saturday Night Live Band since 1984, Turre is also known for the self-designed conch shells he incorporates into his music. The 8 p.m. concert will include blues, Latin, Afro-Cuban, free and mainstream jazz. Turre will also give a pre-concert talk and demonstration at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door.
