Class of 2002 by the numbers

DEGREES AWARDED

The number of degrees awarded in 2001-02 is 2,427 in June, 432 in February and 358 in September.

Bachelor of Science: 1,085 in June, 80 in February and 21 in September.

Master of Science: 1,093 in June, 219 in February and 178 in September.

Doctorate: 242 in June, 131 in February and 128 in September.

Engineer: seven in June, one in September and two in February.

DEMOGRAPHICS

The breakdown of June graduates, according to the Registrar's Office, is as follows.

Men: 1,478

Women: 709

Underrepresented minorities: 177

FUTURE PLANS

Employment: 570, or 60 percent of the Class of 2002.

Graduate school: 296 (including 123 in Ph.D. programs, 26 in medical school and seven in law school), or 32 percent.
