Kendall Square biotech community feted

The MIT community is invited to join friends and colleagues in biotechnology at an outdoor reception to celebrate the greater Kendall Square biotechnology community. The event will be held Thursday, Aug. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Building E25 courtyard. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

The goal of the event is to recognize the high density of biotechnology companies (74 and growing) in the Kendall Square area and foster closer ties between these companies and the MIT community. The MIT Entrepreneurship Center and the Biomedical Enterprise Program are sponsoring the event.

The reception will also celebrate the launch of the Biomedical Enterprise Program, an initiative of the Harvard/MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology and the Sloan School of Management. The program will train future leaders of the biomedical industry, who will have thorough training in both biomedical science and business.

Admission to the reception is open to all, but those planning to attend must RSVP online or via e-mail to pfuligni@mit.edu.
