Campus construction update

NOTE: No construction work is scheduled to take place near residences or academic buildings this week during finals.

MEDIA LAB EXPANSION

Demolition of Building E20 is complete. Demolition of Building E10 will be discontinued for exam week.

VASSAR STREET UTILITIES

Traffic and parking may be affected by work on Vassar Street from Massachusetts Avenue east to Main Street. No parking will be allowed in the work zones on both sides of the street. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained, although lane shifts may occur.

STATA CENTER

Pool foundation cutting for tunnel connection continues. The Alumni Pool may experience some vibration and noise.

SIMMONS HALL

Excavation work on the west end of Vassar Street to install utilities may affect traffic flow.

SPORTS & FITNESS CENTER

Roof work, drywall framing, rough plumbing, casting of floor slabs and fireproofing will proceed, with special precautions regarding noise.

LOBBY 7 RESTORATION

Construction continues at the 77 Massachusetts Ave. exterior entrance to repair the cracked limestone facade. Scaffolding may affect foot traffic.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

Storm drains will be installed along Albany Street from Massachusetts Avenue to Pacific Street. Albany Street will be closed through Dec. 28 from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, though emergency vehicles will have access.

CHEMISTRY BUILDING

Continuing work on the building facade will cause vibrations. Moving of offices and labs will cause some disruptions for occupants. Areas south and west of the building may be fenced off to accommodate staging.
