Campus construction update

VASSAR STREET UTILITIES

Night work on utilities for Simmons Hall will continue through Nov. 16 between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. The louder work will be timed to take place earlier in the evening.

ZESIGER SPORTS AND FITNESS CENTER

Roof work, drywall framing, rough plumbing, casting of floor slabs and fireproofing are in progress. Noise from heavy equipment operations may occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE

The City of Cambridge will install drains along the portion of Albany Street from Massachusetts Avenue to Pacific Street. To complete the work, this section of Albany Street will be closed to regular traffic Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Nov. 30.

MEDIA LAB EXTENSION

Jersey barriers will be placed along Ames and Amherst streets to provide walkways once demolition of Buildings E10 and E20 begins.

MEMORIAL DRIVE

Construction activity associated with the installation of traffic signals at the Memorial Drive intersections with Wadsworth and Endicott streets will continue through December. On-street parking will be restricted during this time.

LOBBY 7 RESTORATION

Interior scaffolding remains as a light color wash is being applied to the upper dome coffers to provide a uniform surface. The new lighting system is in its final weeks of installation. The laylight assembly beneath the skylight is being reassembled after cleaning and painting. Construction continues at the 77 Massachusetts Ave. exterior entrance to repair the cracked limestone facade. Scaffolding has been erected, and foot traffic may be affected.
