MIT Card Office extends hours

The MIT Card Office in Rm E32-117 has extended its hours. In addition to its regular customer service hours of 9am-4:30pm, the office now remains open late on Thursdays until 7pm and opens early on Fridays at 7:30am.

The change was made in response to increased demand for ID cards. As departments and offices across campus, including the athletics facilities, adopt card-access technology, community members who traditionally have not needed an ID now find themselves in need of one.

MIT ID cards are primarily used for access to secure spaces around campus including classrooms, on-campus housing, offices and/or laboratories, parking lots or garages, and for after-hours or weekend access to some MIT buildings. Increasingly, however, the card offersaccess to services such as those provided by the MIT Libraries, the Parking Office, the MIT Activities Committee, Campus Dining and the Department of Athletics.

For more information about the MIT Card, contact the MIT Card Office at x3-3475 or visit the web site.
