Trip to Tanglewood planned for MIT retirees

The Association of MIT Retirees will sponsor an overnight trip to Tanglewood for all members of the community on August 29-30, the last weekend of the famed summer music session, when the orchestra will play Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

The trip will leave at 8:30am Sunday morning from the CRA lot with a stop in Stockbridge for lunch and browsing in the shops before the afternoon concert. Travelers will spend the night at the Williams Inn in Williamstown with dinner and breakfast off the menu. Monday morning will feature a visit to the Clark Art Museum before the homeward trip begins. En route back to Cambridge, there will be stops at the Yankee Candle Factory and the Lunt Design Studio, with arrival in Cambridge at about 6pm.

Prices are $199 per person, double occupancy; $249 per person, single occupancy; and $195 per person, triple occupancy. Prices include the two meals at the Williams Inn, reserved seats at Tanglewood and admission to the Clark Museum in addition to round-trip motorcoach transportation.

Those interested should call the Retirees Office at x3-7910 as soon as possible, because the reservation must be confirmed next week.
