N10 Annex parking lot closing due to construction

Because the first phase of construction for the new Albany Garage will begin on March 15, the N10 Annex parking lot will close permanently at the end of the day on Friday, March 12.

This site will become half of the new Albany Garage. People with North parking permits must utilize the remaining parking areas in the North zone, which includes the Albany Garage and open lot, the N10 lot, the Windsor Street lot and the new 158 Massachusetts Ave. lot.

If all these parking areas become full on a particular day, the parking attendant at the N10 lot will notify the CRA lot attendant to accept cars with North permits. The CRA lot (at the corner of Main and Ames Streets, between the Whitehead Institute and Legal Sea Foods) will not accept cars with North permits until notified by the N10 attendant. However, according to the occupancy statistics for this year, the CRA lot should only be needed on a few occasions.

Anyone with questions about the project may contact John McDonald, director of parking and transportation, at x3-9897 or jmcd@mit.edu.
