Medical care 'conversation' for retirees scheduled

Dr. John Moses, a retired internist from the Medical Department, will lead a conversation on health care on Thursday, March 18 at 1pm in Bartos Theater as part of a seminar series sponsored by the Association of MIT Retirees.

Dr. Moses said he knew very little about how medical systems work when he retired, but was "very opinionated about good care-giving and the effort to seek it." He has since had some experience as a senior citizen using the health care system and has offered to share his experiences to help others find the best health care available to them individually.

Joining him will be Dawn Metcalf, social worker in the Medical Department, who takes a special interest in working with seniors, frequently helping those who are hospitalized in their transition to home or continuing care.

Limited parking for the seminar will be available in the CRA lot at Broadway and Ames Street.
