The New England University Transportation Center (UTC), located at the Center for Transportation Studies at MIT, will sponsor a September 19 open house at the Faculty Club to highlight regional graduate education opportunities in transportation.
Students from MIT, Harvard and state universities in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island will participate.
The program, arranged by Dr. Joseph F. Coughlin, UTC director, begins at 1pm and includes presentations from each school. At 3pm there will be a demonstration of MITSIM, the MIT traffic simulation system that has received much recent publicity.
Taking part will be Professors Joseph Sussman and Cynthia Barnhart of MIT, Dr. Arn Howitt of Harvard, Professor William Highter of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Professor John Ivan of the University of Connecticut, Professor Paul Ossenbruggen of the University of New Hampshire, and Professor K. Wayne Lee of the University of Rhode Island.
