Olsten to hold reception

The Purchasing Office and Olsten Staffing Services (formerly known as Sterling/Olsten) will hold an informal reception for the MIT community on Friday, April 25 from noon-2pm in the Bush Room (10-105).

Information about Olsten, MIT's partner for providing temporary services, will be provided at the reception, and refreshments will be served. Joanne Jones, MIT's partnership manager; Steve McCluskey, purchasing agent; Patrice McDermott, Olsten's partnership manager, and Olsten regional director Kathleen Quinn Votaw will be available to answer questions and discuss the partnership with community members.

More than 80 percent of MIT's requirements for temporary personnel are now being met by Olsten or the company's three subcontractors, Adecco (formerly Adia), Skill Bureau and Office Specialists. Goals of the MIT partnership with Olsten are to reduce the costs of temporary services and to provide consistent quality, availability and pricing. The arrangement also simplifies the overall process of hiring temporary workers.
