Festschrift to honor Anderson

A day-long festschrift honoring Stanford O. Anderson, head of the Department of Architecture, will take place on Saturday, May 3. The School of Architecture and Planning and authors@mit, a series sponsored by the Humanities and Dewey Libraries and the MIT Press Book Store, are hosting the event.

The festschrift is being held in conjunction with the publication of the book entitled The Education of the Architect, written by former students and colleagues of Professor Anderson and edited by Martha Pollock. The symposium will take place from 9:30am-3pm in Rm 10-250.

During the morning session, current students will speak and present their recent work. The afternoon session will comprise a presentation and discussion by five authors of The Education of the Architect, which has just been published by MIT Press and will be available at the event. There will be a book-signing after the symposium from 3-5pm in Rm 7-400 (the area on the fourth floor around the dome).
