TCC to hold after-school program

The Technology Children's Center, which provides daycare at two sites on campus, has just announced a new after-school program to care for children between the ages of five and seven.

The new program will begin on Monday, Sept. 11 at TCC's Westgate location, Building W85, and will be open during the public school year from 2-5:45pm, Monday through Friday, on all days when school is held. In addition, children may attend for the February and April vacations and the center will open at 12:30pm on snow days.

"The program will give the kids a chance to learn, have fun and make new friends," said Lisa Beth Calvo, administrator of the after school program. The children will participate in cooking, art, music, drama and sports and will have time for any homework they may have. There will also be field trips and special activities. The program will be staffed by at least two teachers and will have a maximum of 10 children attending.

Children who attend the Cambridge Public Schools can be dropped off at Westgate by bus. Parents will need to make transportation arrangements for children from other schools.

Parents who would like more information on the after-school program may call Ms. Calvo at x3-5907. They also may attend an open house at Westgate on Friday, Sept. 8 from 3-5pm.
