Four named at Lincoln Lab

Four appointments have been announced at Lincoln Laboratory. David G. Woodbury Sr., associate head of the Administrative Division, has been named head of that division, while Director of Human Resources Joyce D. Yaffee and Chief Financial Officer Bruce K. Willard have been named to the Steering Committee. Replacing Mr. Woodbury in his former position is Frank D. Schimmoller.

Mr. Woodbury joined Lincoln Laboratory in 1985 and served as assistant physical plant manager in Group 12 (Physical Plant Engineering) until 1988, when he became associate Physical Plant manager. He was named associate head of the administrative division and a member of the Steering Committee in 1991. He received the BS degree in civil engineering from the University of Lowell in 1977.

Ms. Yaffee was hired in her current position at Lincoln Laboratory in 1994. Before that, she held several human resources positions (most recently, vice president of human resources) at The Kendall Co. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Kirkland and Simmons Colleges, respectively, as well as a law degree from Suffolk University.

Mr. Willard, who holds degrees in accounting and an MBA from Babson College, joined MIT in 1958 as an accountant in the Lincoln Fiscal Office and later became assistant comptroller. In 1979 he transferred to Lincoln Laboratory as a member of the Director's Office staff, where he was responsible for budget and financial administration for Laboratory programs. His role expanded to include contract administration, control and financial analysis, and this year he was named chief financial officer.

Mr. Schimmoller was appointed as associate head of the Administrative Division effective October 1. He received the MBA degree from Columbia University in 1987. He has served as project manager in Group 12 and as division assistant in Division 10 (Air Defense Technology).
