Taplin Fellowships

MIT faculty members collaborating with assistant or associate professors at Harvard Medical School will be eligible for Funds for Discovery grants endowed by MIT alumnus John F. Taplin.

Up to 10 grants of approximately $50,000 will be made annually to "identify and nurture the creativity of young faculty and assist them in transforming their ideas into technologies that will benefit humankind," according to the HMS announcement. The deadline for applications for grants is August 31. Awards will be announced at the end of October.

Mr. Taplin, who received the SB degree in electrical engineering in 1935, also endowed the Edward Hood Taplin Chair in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.
