Vincent W. James, an MIT graduate and member of the Educational Council for 10 years, has been appointed director of the Educational Council and associate director of admissions. He succeeds Bonny S. Kellerman, now associate registrar.
As Educational Council director, Mr. James will coordinate the program through which MIT alumni/ae interview high school seniors who have applied to MIT for admission.
Mr. James received the SB from MIT in chemical engineering in 1978 and was a Karl Taylor Compton Prize recipient. He received an MBA degree in management from Rutgers University in 1990.
He was a member of the MIT Alumni Activities Board in 1983-85 and he served on the Technology Day committee in 1988-91.
Mr. James comes to MIT from from the Bankers Trust Company of New York City where he had been employed since 1985 as a systems leader in the Corporate Accounting and Information Systems. He was a programmer analyst with Tangent International Computer Consultants, Inc., of New York City, in 1983-85, and an engineer and analyst with Procter and Gamble Company of Cincinnati in 1978-83.
